500 Internal server error (hostgator)

hi im very new to web building, and managed to get through only thanks to other people needing help in similar areas, but I've come across a hurdle i can't figure out. I can't access my Grawlix Panel, I keep getting the above error. I saw another similar post, and im pretty sure it's the htaccess file, but didn't understand what exactly im supposed to change to make the error stop happening.

Please help and use small words, coding is not my forte!
