(It's Long, but I try to get all the details hammered down to prevent unnecessary initial extraneous back and forth conversations - you know, get down to the nitty gritty ASAP)

My Webcomic is We're All Game The current version resides at: wereallgame.com

I was originally using ComicCMS to run my site, I chose it because Wordpress is so bloated and complicated. About a year ago, my server got updated and it broke the site. (The Archives on the Front End, and a number of things on the back end that only I see) I figured out how to update the site manually, but we never got it to work normally again. It's still broken.

On a whim this week, I looked to see if there was another Simple CMS for webcomics out there and I found Grawlix.

I wanted to try it out, see how easy migrating my old information would be, and migrate everything before making it the actual front end of my comic. So I got it installed in a sub-directory, but the firstrun.php didn't like that.

After trying a few different things. We settled on running it at grawlix.wereallgame.com, and after setting that up the firstrun stuff seemed to work. I added a couple comics, and I thought it was working (I forgot to check something - I'll get back to that in a minute).

Then I wanted to start changing the interface. I figured out that the templates are in the Themes folder, so I made an exact copy of the indotherm folder and renamed it. It showed up on the themes page, I installed it and activated it, but the page showed up as if no CSS was loading, I also tried installing the Stick_Figure template, when I activate it, all I get is a blank white page.

In the mean time, while I was doing all this we discovered some permissions issues that we were troubleshooting, and as far as I know we have those sorted out, but maybe you can help me with that.

At this point I actually tried to navigate from the main page of the comic (You know,m Back, Forward, First and Last Comics, Archive, My Comic) and they all give a 404 error. I read through the other thread and made sure that the htaccess.txt got renamed. But nothing else on that thread made sense to me.

One other thing I noticed, when I'm trying to navigate using any of those links, it's trying to link to a grawlix.wereallgame.com/comic something, and there is no comic folder or file on my server, so I'm wondering if the initial permissions issues that we had, prevented a folder from being created.

I'll also mention that on the site health check page, everything is green: (Also, I have some suggestions, but I'll save that for when I get things working)

OK, I’ve scanned your site for technical problems. Here’s the report: Permissions

This checks the ability to add or edit files on your behalf. ../assets/images/comics/ OK ../assets OK ../assets/data OK ../assets/images OK ../assets/images/ads OK ../assets/images/icons OK ../assets/images/static OK ../assets/images/comics/20151113134359282159 OK ../assets/images/comics/201511131540504989961 OK Panel files

The panel should only have Grawlix files. Extras could indicate a hack attempt.

No extra files found; no files missing. Access

Grawlix needs permission to add images to certain folders.

.htaccess file found. SEO

This checks search engine optimization, beginning with unique page titles.

Good news: Every page has a unique title. Orphaned images

The database tracks every comic image. Unknown or missing JPGs, PNGs, etc are reported here. I didn’t find any images.
