Installation for dummies

Hi everyone!

First of all, I want to be clear that I'm a noob, and I want to explain what was my process and my thoughts in the way because it can happen to anyone as noob as me.

------------FIRST PART (first impression)------------

I tried to install it on Chrome and it went all blank. I changed htaccess.txt to .htaccess as I read on a post in this forum and it didn't work (neither in firefox, it displayed an error), so I run it on Firefox as htaccess.txt and worked, but the thing is that I didn't understand what I needed to do next.

1. HOST NAME

a) What is this, My IP? b) My website IP?

1. DATABASE

a) WHAT THE HELL DO I HAVE TO DO HERE?? hahaha

------------SECOND PART (After googling for a while)------------

I went on google and I found this:

Host Name = localhost (literally input localhost) Database Name = cpanelUsername_databaseName Database Username = cpanelUsername_databaseUsername Database Password = whatever you selected

So I went on Cpanel and created my database and a user, and then I wrote literally what the internet example said but It didn't work neither.

Then I tried to write it deleting the "CpanelUsername_" part

Host Name = localhost Database Name = databaseName Database Username = databaseUsername Database Password = *****

AND FINALLY IT WORKED!!!!!!!!

I can't make it work on Chrome BTW!
